About Spot

Big social apps are for broadcasting. This is for actually hanging out.

The problem

Your friends are reachable. Making plans with them still isn't.

Group chats get buried. Instagram DMs feel weird for logistics. Snap Map shows you where people are, not whether they want to hang. The coordination cost is high even when everyone already wants to go.

Someone says "what should we do tonight." Someone else says "idk, what's even going on in the city." Nobody knows. Then the thread dies. You end up doing nothing — not because people didn't want to go out, but because figuring it out felt like too much work.

What Spot does

Spot is built around one idea: less time on your phone figuring out what to do, more time actually out doing it.

Open the app and you immediately see what's happening near you: shows, concerts, pop-ups, and local events posted by communities and organizers in your city. No digging through Instagram stories or asking around. The answer is just there.

You can also see which of your friends are out right now, share your own location with exactly who you want for exactly as long as you want, or drop a "Come Find Me" pin so your crew knows where to show up. When a friend sends you a private event, or enough of your friends are all heading somewhere, you get notified. No more being the last to know.

And for local spots and events trying to reach people: Spot puts you in front of the people who are already nearby and already looking for something to do. Not a follower count. The right people, at the right moment.

Privacy, by design

Spot is built around location. We don't take that lightly. Here's how we've actually thought about it — not just what's legally required, but what we think is right.

We keep as little as possible

Location data isn't stored longer than it needs to be. The default is no history. Less stored means less to breach, and less that can ever be used against you.

Your location is never sold

Precise location is one of the most sensitive things you can share. We won't sell it — full stop. Not to data brokers, not to advertisers, not to anyone. Regardless of what's technically legal.

Consent you can actually read

Permissions are explained in plain language, not buried in settings. You'll always know what you're agreeing to, why we're asking, and what happens if you say no.

No pressure to share

Going invisible is easy and judgment-free. We don't send guilt nudges. No streaks for sharing your location. No loyalty mechanics built around being tracked. You're in control — always.
